SPELLS THAT DON'T WORK

I divorced my ex husband in 2001 and 18 months later after chatting online to someone Id met a few times, I started a lovling relationship with someone which lasted 2 years.

After we split, 12 months went by and I was still single so shortly after this I thought to myself that I wasnt going to go any longer before I met anyone else so I waited till the time was right, my birthday is January 14th and it fell on a friday and to make the day more perfect it was also a full moon. How could a love spell go wrong I asked myself?

I planned it for weeks, the red card to make hearts, the apple, the cord to bind it all with and the spell was written. I followed everything to the letter. I combined a few spells together to make sure it was going to work. The spells I combined said they were most powerful and would work almost instantly......

4 years on and Im still single!

To say Im disheartened is an understatement. All I want is to be part of a loving relationship. What makes matters worse is that all the men Ive met or chatted to over these last few years have been married, in a relationship or not prepared to enter into a relationship and are only after a cheap fling.

I feel like Im being punished for wanting to be happy and cared for.

Spells are not a fix it all, they work by bringing balance even if we find it difficult to see at the time.

Rozanna, your spell wasn't a complete failure, at least your husband was able to clear off your own bank debt, and if you weren't in a good financial situation you probably wouldn't have been able to afford that cottage anyway and it could have made you worse off by buying it.

The doctors turned out to be right in your mums case, i do feel for you that she passed away and you wish you could have done more. but the drugs wouldn't have prolonged her life, and it could have gotten you into more debt because of the expense.

Can you say you did everything you could to bring love into your life? Did you go out and speak to people, flirt a bit? Was there any men that were interested in you that you said no to, or weren't attracted to? Have you tried any dating sites?

Like i said above the magick will bring balance, it will bring what you want but you also have to do something in your day to day life, cupid will not just knock on your door with a delivery. you have to get out there and make it happen as well.

Like i said to Rozanna about Cosmic Ordering, that may work for you too, there are quite a lot of success stories about people finding the right person for them by doing this.

you are not being punished for wanting to be happy and cared for, the time you spent alone can't have been a complete waste? what better way to get to know yourself well is there than being single? sometimes being in a relationship we feel we can lose a part of ourselves as we have to take into account the other person in our lives. Don't look on those years as being a waste of time, cherish them :)

I learnt a lesson about spellcraft very early on my pagan path. I tried a love charm on a man I liked at the school where I work. I used a gold ring on a red ribbon and tapped it in a glass, spelling his name and mine. I wore it around my neck for three weeks until I realised that he wasn't interested, he hadn't even spoken to me!!

I took the charm off as it clearly wasn't working plus it was my sisters 21st birthday and I could hide it under my dress. The day I took it off  was the party and here I met Mr FireRose. We talked all night, went out and we're getting married next year! I don't know if the spell worked in a different way, making me receptive to love. I'd never had a boyfriend before either . . .

I remember reading something ages ago that went something like this: don't do a spell unless you can solve the problem using everyday solutions!

I think maybe you needed to do the spell to realise the boy you liked was not interested, so you would then move on and meet someone right for you. if you hadn't done the spell then maybe you would have still been thinking about him and wouldn't have noticed your husband to be :)

Fyrewitch Im on countless dating sites, I've been to singles nights, socialized with friends and even ran a singles evening (which eventually flopped, people want these evenings but then stay at home or lose interest)

Ive been approached by people I know to see if I can organise a night out but alas almost immediately after being asked, I got the news (which was only a few weeks ago) that my little brother is terminally ill with cancer and has only a matter of weeks to live (but like all us humans he may live longer, he may live shorter no one knows for sure) but none the less he is terminal. I cant and dont want to think about organising a night out for the forseeable future so this idea has had to be shelved and I guess my plans to look for someone to take care of me has also been shelved as I cant think of anything other than my brother and my family.

Ive given up trying to find him but still live in hope but Im not about to hold my breath anymore.

I don't think anyone should give up on finding love, like i mentioned above have you tried cosmic ordering? a lot of people have met their soulmate that way. maybe someone else can run the singles nights instead?

Yes Ive tried cosmic ordering, Ive also called on the angels and Ive seen a couple of mediums who said I would meet someone soon and that he'll be the best thing for me. The last medium told me this but that was 5 months ago. Im easy to get on with and have chatted to men and after a few chats etc I find out that they're either in a relationship (and want a cheap fling) or married (and wanting a cheap thrill) or just want a one night stand.

Ive tried positive thinking and visualisation in the hope of finding this special someone who I keep being told wont be long in showing up for me but nope theres not even been a sniff by anyone.

Im just about to start reading a book on coinsidence and synchronicity to see if I maybe missing any subtle clues.

I want the tigers eye and leaf spell can you remember it please xx

Hi Angel, i had to smile when i read your letter and no i am not laughing at you, i have been single the past 5 years, and i feel like i am never going to find  the right person, i to sometimes think like you  when you said - am i being punished, i must of been real bad  lol all i can say Angel is try not to let it get you down, go out with friends more try dateing sites and dont be in such a hurry. Thanks for that.  I've heard of cosmic ordering, but am not too sure what you are meant to do.  I've heard some people do it by making a written list of things they wish to happen, but you have to be very careful with it.  I often visualise things that I'd like to happen, but it doesn't seem to have much effect so far.  I'm not saying that I'm one of them, but are there people out there who for whatever reasons just won't get anywhere at all with anything like this?  I have a good friend (a healer) who is a lovely person and would do anything to help anybody, yet there is always something going wrong in her life (health and family problems etc).  It seems so unfair to me, she is disabled and may be OK for a few weeks then she goes down with something, falls over and injures herself or her offspring have yet more problems they seem to pile on her.  Any ideas please?

I've found it at last.  I knew I'd seen your question somewhere on this forum, but hadn't been able to find it again.  I think I have the spell you mean.  I found it in a 2003 copy of Spirit and Destiny, in the 'Bewitched' column written by white witch Silja.  I posted it on the forum yesterday hoping that whoever wanted it would be able to pick it up from there.  In case you can't here it is again:

To cast a spell against general bad luck, and potential money problems, get hold of a tiger's eye stone (a brown and gold stone) on a waxing moon (a new to full moon), and tie a basil leaf to it with a piece of green string.  While doing this,  say:

Basil leaf and brown stone,

Much bad luck I have known,

Now I change my reality,

Happy and lucky I will be!

Hope it works for you.

Renew the spell every month by using a new basil leaf, until you feel the spell is no longer needed.
