What do you look for in a reading and what type and are some age groups drawn to specific types of readings?

How many of you have had readings before, do you always have tarot readings or had readings by mediums who have brought through loved ones / friends etc from the spirit world.

Do you regularly have a reading or only when you need help or guidance about a situation?

Over the years I have received some lovely messages from mediums at my local spiritualist church, I've also had tarot readings done which have been quite intuitive too. I do like Doreen Virtue's sets of cards and most days will pick a card out, I have a couple of sets of tarot cards too, which I dabble with too, I also like working with crystals and have interests in spiritual healing.

Blessings to you All

Readings

Hi Angel-light,

Haven't been on this site for ages but saw your post today and thought I'll pass on my own messages about my last readings from Psychics.

I had readings from two brilliant pyschics, Henry and Adam. Both were separate readings.  I consulted them during a court battle with my ex husband who took me to court for permanent custody of my then nine and a half year old daughter, Beth. Trouble was my ex left us when she was nine months old and never gave me the opportunity to talk to him, as soon as he knew my home address I was taken straight to court. During our marriage he was extremely violent to me and I and my son from a previous marriage suffered injury because of his temper. So it was an extremely short marriage and he disappeared for many years leaving us alone. Both psychics picked up that the ex was hiding the truth and telling lies. I later learnt that the ex had a 10 year history of violently attacking his previous partners and their respective children. The psychics also stated that he had been known by other names and had served time in prison. I found all this to be true.

What I wanted to know was first was my ex husband's motive genuine, did he really want to get to know her? - Henry and Adam separately said that the ex wanted money.        After being questioned by a Judge my ex said in court that he would expect me to pay him child maintenance because "she" meaning me had a good job!

Secondly, I wanted to know how to deal with my ex during this court battle? Both psychics picked up that the ex was a dark energy. Henry told me to relax as it was my daughter who had the power in this court case not the ex, my ex was taking me to court at short notice which interfered with my work every single month. I was being harrassed and pestered by him via this court case. It was ok for him to make allegations as he was and still is on benefits!  Adam further said that my daughter was afraid of the ex and that she would be made to have some contact with the ex. Correct on both accounts. She was afriad of him as he began to not say nice things to Beth and he threatened to hurt me if she didn't do as he said, this was on the second last unsupervised contact (Beth only had 2 unsupervised contacts with the ex)  the guardian supervised the last contact with her dad.

Both psychics were right about this. Both also said that she needed to have a voice in court and be heard about what my daughter wanted, her wishes needed to be heard. This was correct as one court reporter from CAFCASS fabricated her report about meetings I and Beth had with this person. This court reporter was removed from the case.

Beth's second guardian failed to report what my daughter actually wanted and because no-one gave her any consideration this made my daughter then 11 y/o to make her own decisions and called a halt to any contact with her father.

Thirdly, I wanted to know if I was doing the right thing by my daughter and acting to protect her as I knew how violent the ex could be? Both psychics told me how I could protect myself from his negative dark energy then told me and described what my daughter was feeling and how to handle the stress she was feeling. She thought that she would be made to go live with her dad and never see me again. She lived with this uncertainty for over 10 months...too long for any child to wait.

Henry also said that I would get back property that had been taken away from me to fund this court case. My ex was fully funded from start to finish. I was not and had to pay for everything but he lost this case and walked away with nothing, he hasn't been heard of since and has been uncontactable ever since. What hurts more is that he nor anyone from his family genuinely wanted to get to know his daughter, their grandchild and niece.

Since then I wrote about my case to the govrnment and my MP has taken up my case and will lobby for changes in the UK Family Law. I also wrote to the Court of Human Rights and have just heard that my case has been accepted and will be heard in front of the Judges, all I want is a fairer system in Family Law protecting those who are vulnerable and at risk from harm from violence. LOL

Positive out of a negative experience

Hi Angel Light,

I have had 4 years of such negative experiences, in fact I hope life will now settle down. It was just me and my daughter who went through this whole negative experience and I'm glad I'm taking my case further especially if I get UK Family law to be changed for the better.

What I've learnt well is that you need to forgive those people who hurt you, who are greedy, tell lies, those who want something for nothing...these people do not know any better and their energies resonate at a low level. It is down to themselves to learn from what they have done and to deal with karmic consequences which surely will come their way even if we are not going to see it, they will reap what they sow!

Both my daughter and myself are OK now thanks Angel Light ;-D but I really did have two brilliant psychics to guide me through this dark time and to reassure me that I was doing right by my daughter and this is what I got from my readings with them.

Lots of Love N Light,

What do you look for in a reading

Hi Angel Light

I've tried a few different types of reading over the years, though I've had very few considering I'm 58 this year.  I had one as a teenager from a man using an ordinary pack of playing cards.  Some predictions eventually came true, and he also picked up some odd things that applied to family members for example a bunch of 12 red roses (Dad always gave Mum 12 red roses on their wedding anniversaries).  About 15 years I had a tarot reading at a psychic fair which cost about £25 for something like 10-15 mins, and was a complete waste of money as he seemed not to be able to get anything through at all.  A palm reading with a Romany palmist maybe about 10 years ago was interesting, some things she predicted have happened during the last 2 years or so.  She said to me "You have Romany in your family, haven't you?"  I said there was supposed to be some on Mum's side, but it was a long way back and we couldn't trace them.  "You will" she said.  I've found some now, the connection was my Great Great Grandfather.

I had a reading with a medium as part of a spiritual evening a friend had arranged at her house.  The medium was also an astrologer and kinesiologist.  The reading was quite good, but I'm afraid I've never been able to get into kinesiology and have to say that I nearly cancelled going because although I don't really believe in it, the kinesiology part sent my illness phobia into overdrive, I felt sick, wobbly, lightheaded, had knots in my stomach which got worse as she was going round to each of us and was close to getting up and running out of the room.  The lady asked me what on earth I was so scared of, and I had to tell her it was her and I was terrified she was going to find something wrong with me and could I please sit in a corner and not join in, or have to speak in front of the others who were there.  The mediumship part I was fine with and a lot of it was quite accurate.

I had a telephone reading with a medium about 4 years ago after my Mum passed.  It was 2 or 3 months later and Dad and I had such a lot of odd things happening, and a lot of sightings of Mum I wanted to know what was going on. I thought this reading was the most impressive because the man lived in Kent and I'm in Wiltshire and the only thing I told him was my first name.  He picked up who the person was who'd passed, what she'd passed from and that the illness had been misdiagnosed, the letter her name started with 'J' and that Dad and I had been seeing her a lot and that she had leaned over our beds and kissed us.  He also picked up a lady we'd seen Mum with and didn't recognise.  I'd previously asked Mum who the lady was and she said it was her great grandmother, who I'd never met.  He said Mum was with a lady whose name was part of the name Elizabeth, but it wasn't Beth.  I later found out it was Eliza.  I think what impressed me most was when he said he was getting the name Margaret from Mum.  I told him I knew a Margaret but she wasn't in spirit and he said that it wasn't a person it was the name itself, there was something wrong with the name Margaret.  There was indeed.  Mum's middle name was Marguerite, but when we went to register her death we found that on her birth certificate the registrar had spelt her name Margaret.  I thought that he could have picked up that it was Mum who'd passed by guesswork, and that she'd died from cancer (a lot of people do) but the chances of picking up that Dad and I saw her with her great grandmother, and the fact that her middle name was spelt wrongly would be quite remote.

I've only been inside a Spiritualist Church once in my life, and I don't know whether I'll ever go again (well not in this area anyway) as I just didn't feel happy there, I just felt totally uneasy and was glad when it finished and I could go.  A friend had persuaded me to go, had been working on me for months and months and eventually I gave in just for a quiet life.  The medium was pleasant enough, but not at all accurate with me though she was with others, and I hated the format, as I cannot stand having to speak in front of a lot of people I don't know and she had asked who hadn't been before so I kept quiet until the friends I was with dropped me in the poo and pointed at me.  I then ended up with a microphone in my face being asked questions.  She said she picked up someone who had difficulty speaking and was it me.  I spluttered that I hated having to speak in front of a lot of strangers, but nothing else I was told meant anything to me (though I suppose as everyone was sat quite close together the info could have been for someone nearby and not me at all).  The weird thing was that on the way home in a friend's car I saw a man in a dark coat cross over the road as we were coming down a hill and disappear into a high wall opposite, while the others in the car, including the friend sat next to me who is very psychic (if anyone is going to see something it's usually her) saw nothing at all.

I've never used tarot cards myself, mainly because I'm so ham-fisted at shuffling the cards and have sometimes reduced friends to a state of collapse with laughing at my attempts, but I'd like to learn though.  I like crystals and have a lot at home.  When 2 of our cats were young we kept finding crystals missing and wondered where they were, until we caught one of them with a small crystal in his mouth which he then proceeded to tuck away under one of the kitchen units and a few days later caught another one carrying a crystal and hiding it under the unit.  We found quite a few there along with paintbrushes, hairbrushes and a pack of rawlplugs, so don't know what was going through their heads at the time.  They don't do it now, though last year I found a crystal under the cushion of one of our chairs.  I'm interested in spiritual healing but the Spiritualist Church bit puts me off doing anything about it.  A friend went to several in the area and found them very 'cliquey', and very unwelcoming if your face or dress sense didn't fit.  She is quite a large lady who wears colourful clothes (and why shouldn't she), well she shouldn't according to some of the people running the churches she'd been to.   That's not what it should be about, the notice outside says that all are welcome, but they don't seem to practice what they preach do they.  I know they are not all like that, but to overhear several people discussing her (with comments like "here it comes" and "look what the cat dragged in") don't exactly endear the place to people).  Maybe I'll find somewhere if it's my destiny to.

Love and Light

Hi Rozanna

Hi Rozanna,

Your post reaffirms for me that not all psychics are on the same wavelength. Having studied energy & brainwaves for healing that some of us emit more of a particlar brainwave than other waves.

As we are energy the chosen psychic we go to for a reading or healing may not be that good as they are not on the same energy wavelength as you are. I have had the same happen of having brilliant readings to not so brilliant readings.

As well when you saw your man with the hat when travelling back in the car, it was because your energy was resonating at a higher level than your companions so we may see unexpected things. Please see my previous posts relating to "Frightened  of Dying"and "Confused about the afterlife".

Lots of Blessings to you Rozanna,

Hi Rozanna & Demi, I know

Hi Rozanna & Demi,

I know what you mean about spiritualist churches, alot of them are very clicky & its a shame some people don't leave their ego at home!  Its a real shame because there are alot of mediums that go round the churches who are so dedicated to their work in helping people & alot of the people who run the churches work tirelesly to keep the doors open & unfortunately its gets spoilt by a few people & newcomers into a church can be so of put that they don't bother going again.

Demi, what sort of healing do you do, me & my partner done spiritual healing for several years at a spiritualist church, but stopped a few years ago when we had a baby. We've only just started going to church again now, but have not been able to do our healing as the place we went to has since closed.

Hi Angel-Light

Unfortunately Angel-Light I don't do any healing, I wsihed I could but don't know where to start either place or even how to start. Perhaps this is one of life's lessons is to incorporate the healing bit into my work.

I'm going for a job interview on Friday to Glasgow as I'm looking for a new job in the Neurology laboratory. I am a qualified scientist with lots of experience in that discipline.

Lots of Love & Spiritual blessings,

Healing

Hi Demi,

Thank you for your reply. I have always been interested in mediumship since an early age after reading Doris Stokes books, so always liked to be able to do that. I never thought of doing healing, I was told in messages that I should be doing it so started at the church I was with. When I started you had to do 2 years probabtionary working alongside a full healer, & keep a log etc, have a test then got my certificate, done healing at church for about 7 years it since has closed down. There are various healing organizations, can google search them, probably The National Federation of Spiritual Healers is the most recognized organisation, but I understand you do have to do certain courses & they're not cheap, they have places through out the uk. If you find where your local spiritualist church is, most of them do healing, so if you enquire with them they might be able to help you. I must say doing healing is the most amasing thing, the energies are beautiful & its so rewarding, so if you get the opportunity, do it.

Also Demi, I wish you good luck & the very best for your job interview on friday.

Love, Light & Blessings xx

Blessings to you

Hi Rozanna and Angel-Light,

Thank you to you for your wishes for the job interview. Sadly it wasn't to be as was quite shocked when the entire interview panel of 2 female scientists and one consultant made scathing remarks about my tutor who taught me my neurology techniques. They didn't say why they didn't like him as he is a world renowned scientist with a good reputation.

The consultant remarked that I was their ideal candidate who had the sills and techniques they were looking for but felt I may lack commitment to the post as I needed to relocate Glasgow with my 12 year old daughter.

I felt saddened by such negative remarks and left with a heavy heart. But I'm not discoraged as have another interview in Preston on 22nd Sept and there is a combined post which I really want in Sherwood Forest. For now I will take any interviews going and hopefully will get a job soon.

Job Interview

Hi Demi

Sorry you didn't get the job, but as they were that negative maybe it's just as well, as I doubt you'd have been happy there.  Hopefully you'll get the one you want in Sherwood Forest.

Good Luck for both interviews.

Hi Demi,

Sorry to hear what happened at the interview, you know what they were jealous, what I'd say to them "get over yourselves", your better off not being there if thats the sort of negative people you'd be working with, you deserve much better.  Anyway, best of luck for your next interview & the Sherwood Forest one, we'll be calling you Maid Demi of Sherwood Forest !!

readings

hi Angel-light ive had many different types of readings,  its usually out of the blue are the best readings, when you get an urge and just ring or go to church, and the best is when you get a message there is no way they could know about the situation in question xx

Hi Angel-Light and Rozanna,

Just wanted to let you both know how I got on at my interviews. I got the job at Sherwood Forest, this job gives me an added bonus as I will be setting up a new clinical NHS lab service, and it pays really well. I start at the beginning of Oct but am a bit tentaive as I need to live on-site at the hospital as it is about 65 miles from my home so a bit far to commute.

I accepted the job yesterday when it was offered to me.

As for Preston, I got that one but it paid a lot less so am really happy.

Readings...

I have had a few mediumship readings over the past 30 odd years. I am drawn to these type of readings because of the connection the Medium has with those in Spirit and the messages that are passed on.

It's the total evidence that is given during a reading that that brings so much comfort. I'm not talking about the common names that come through, but the ones that I have really been able to accept without any doubt, such as nic names. Also street names, house numbers, even licence plate numbers.

On a few occassions my birth father came through, although this hasn't happened in a very long time. I was given information that I could only have confirmed by my mother, needless to say, the Medium was spot on.

I have had a few Tarot readings, but to be honest, I can't say any left a lasting impression.

I rarely have a reading and if and when I do, I never ever have readings close together as I believe one must let some time pass by before having another one. I also believe one should never use readings as a crutch, we can't be told everything, there are certain things that we have to find out, experience for ourselves. It's all part and parcel of our learning :) xx
